Data Templates

CEDEN templates are provided in Microsoft Excel (versions 97-2003) format to facilitate submission of data to CEDEN Regional Data Centers. Templates help data generators submit their data into the CEDEN system. Each template contains multiple worksheets and sample data submissions. The guidance document that accompanies each template describes each field's data type and provides definitions and business rules. Please contact your local Regional Data Center or the help desk with any questions about submitting your data or using the appropriate templates.

Chemistry

  Worksheets, including ChemResults and LabBatch, with the appropriate fields required to load chemistry data into the database, including; nutrients, metals, organics and bacteria data. The templates contain a macro to help ensure that the format of the time-labelled fields is correct. The cells containing times must be text and five characters (hh:mm).

Field Collection

• Field Collection and Result Data Submission Guidance Document (PDF: updated 1/08/2019)

  Worksheets, including FieldResults and HabitatResults, with the appropriate fields required to load historic and current field and habitat data into the database. The templates contain a macro to help ensure that the format of the time-labelled fields is correct. The cells containing times must be text and five characters (hh:mm).

Taxonomy

• If you are not submitting data through a fee-based RDC, then Taxonomy data must be submitted through the SWAMP online data checker in SWAMP templates.

• Template (Excel: updated 9/21/2017)
  Worksheets for submitting lab effort and species results data. This template also contains a worksheet, BenthicResults, with appropriate fields required to load benthic data into the database. Macro invertebrates, Marine Infauna and Algae abundance data should also be submitted using this template. Tissue

• If you are not submitting data through a fee-based RDC, then Taxonomy data must be submitted through the SWAMP online data checker in SWAMP templates.

  The CEDEN database is designed to store data elements for analytes in fish, bivalve, bird, and mammal tissue. This template may be used for both tissue collection data and tissue results.

Toxicity

  A Microsoft Excel file that contains three worksheets, including ToxSummaryResults, ToxReplicateResults, and ToxBatch. A data submission example is included in the Excel file.

Bioassesment

• If you are not submitting data through a fee-based RDC, then Bioassessment Physical Habitat data must be submitted using a SWAMP data entry shell. Please reach out to Toni Marshall to request a SWAMP data entry shell.
• If you are submitting data through a fee-based RDC, please reach out to them for guidance on submitting bioassessment physical habitat data.
