San Francisco Bay
- SWAMP RWB2 Monitoring
The Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program (SWAMP) is funded to assess the condition of California’s surface waters. The project SWAMP RWB2 Monitoring contains data from stations within the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Board. Data types included in this project include water column and sediment chemistry and toxicity, benthic macroinvertebrate and physical habitat and trash assessment.
- Regional Monitoring Program (RMP)
The RMP is a long-term monitoring program that monitors contamination in the Estuary. It provides water quality regulators information they need to manage the Estuary effectively. The RMP is an innovative collaborative effort between SFEI, the Regional Water Quality Control Board, and the regulated discharger community.
- Fish Mercury Project (FMP)
California Bay-Delta Authority (CBDA) approved a $4.5 million proposal to examine mercury in fish in the Bay-Delta watershed, to increase public awareness of fish contamination issues, and to monitor potential changes in mercury concentrations from marsh restoration projects in the Delta.
- 2000 EPA EMAP
50 stations were visited in San Francisco Bay. Samples included sediment grabs which yielded benthic infauna, sediment toxicity, and fish tissue and sediment chemistry. Trawls were conducted at each station where fish and invertebrates were collected for community analysis.
