The objective of monitoring performed by the ESJWQC is to characterize discharges from agricultural lands in the Central Valley east of the San Joaquin River within Madera, Merced, Stanislaus, Tuolumne and Mariposa Counties and portions of Calaveras County. Agricultural coalitions and irrigation districts must monitor to determine the quality of water discharged into waters of the state and measure the improvement in water quality as a result of the implementation of management practices.
